Project description

The DESKAR2030 project is part of the “Basque Net Zero Industrial Super Cluster” initiative launched by the Basque Government, which seeks to reduce carbon emissions in five key industrial sectors, including the foundry and steel industry. The aim of the project is to identify the industrial processes with the highest energy consumption, to develop and apply technologies and measures to reduce CO2 emissions associated with energy consumption, and to assess the current and potential value chain in the Basque Country for the development and supply of these technologies and measures. The DESKAR2030 project is aligned with the plans and strategies to address climate change and decarbonization at national and international level, and aims to contribute to achieve the decarbonization objectives of the European Union.

Global Factor’s R&D team is working on the DESKAR2030 project to help the steel sector embrace more sustainable practices and reduce its carbon emissions by providing Circular Economy support.

DESKAR2030 is a project co-financed by the Basque Government and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2021-2027.
