Project details

The project was based on the development of a geo-referenced climate vulnerability and risk index for the municipalities located in the Western Region of São Paulo, Brazil. Based on the results achieved, a series of solutions were defined to reduce the vulnerability of the region. These actions for adaptation to climate change were contrasted in several participatory workshops with technicians and politicians from the affected municipalities. Subsequently, different analyses were carried out, including cost-benefit and multi-criteria analysis.

This led to the development of an action plan for climate change adaptation and the identification of a number of key projects, which were developed as concept notes for submission to the Green Climate Fund (GFC).
