Project description
The Global Factor team supported the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) in the development of a standardized methodology to determine the environmental footprint of green coffee in the Republic of Guatemala.
The study was carried out based on the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) methodology in a pilot area of the country, which allowed investigating and evaluating the environmental impacts of green coffee in all stages of its existence, including extraction, production, distribution, use and life of this. To this end, technical and operational working groups were formed to facilitate the implementation of the activities required for the study, as well as the environmental footprint analysis.
