Project description

The project has been designed to study the assessment of the effects of climate change within the agriculture sector, in several regions of Spain.

In particular, the project has studied the impacts of climate change for grape vines, tomatoes, chickpeas and almond trees. The foregoing crops are highly sensitive to specific climate characteristics. For example, an increase of temperature and carbon dioxide could benefit certain crops in different regions.

Based upon the study of the climatological characteristics which are determinant for each crop, in each region, the climate forecasts of said specific variable have been analysed and the relation thereof to the future productivity of the specific crop.
